Today is my first day and attempt to learn how to sell by signing up as an agent for a new startup telco.

The competitive advantage for this telco is unlimited mobile calls (6000 mins) on it's network

Here are my mistakes tonight

1) people are more approachable in day time before 7pm

2) wrong location and target market today i open my booth in a flea market/farmer's

3) need to work on my pitch.
"Unlimited calls for rm8" and "save money" doesn't work, need to be more consultative by asking such as "are you using prepaid currently"

I am also reading a book the hidden agenda by Kevin Allen

Why about starting by asking how much they're currently paying? Then tell them how much they would be paying (and saving) with your service.

This is what a lot of cable/satellite companies do when they go door to door.

Great idea thanks.

So today i am being consultative and spend more then an hour with a prospect (teacher) he is keen interested yet have to discuss with his spouse

No sales yet. Maybe 2-3 leads my mistake of not asking their contacts for future follow-ups

I need to learn how to do follow-up,maybe i should go for SMBs?

I realize i need to be a relationship builder

To learn:
Follow-up
Relationship building

Selling to foreign worker labor from 3rd world country usually ends up a No because they need a security deposit of rm50 and they can't afford that

No buying power

Hey, I used to do a lot of cold calling and might be able to help you with your script.

Opening right away with just the facts is clearly a sales call and most people don't want to deal with that.

If I were you, I would try to assume something, right or wrong - it will start the conversation

"Hi Mr. Joe, I was calling because you use X correct?"

"No we don't"

"Really? What type of plan are you using?"

"X plan"

to line1

"Hi Mr. Joe, I was calling because you use X correct?"

"Yes we do"

1"Awesome! I know you're probably happy with it because they're a good service but, I think I can make you even happier. What prices are you paying right now?"

"$x/mo"

Then tell him your price and also try to figure out a way that it will actually benefit him, find a way to make it make his daily life better somehow and sell him on that, close him on the price.

I was also about to go to bed before I saw this post so, I may be delusional.... I'm pretty tired.

I approached 3 mechanical engineering student while having their late lunch.

They seem to ignore me till i talk about mechanical stuff (im a caterpillar inc. Employee) I provide inside to my industry work related stuff and they are engaged.

However i fail to close,i dont know how to trigger the call.

I learn people dont buy from strangers (easily) but how do i connect to strangers? Hmm...

Must provide value first... how to build instant relationship?

Hey nice hat, where did you get that at? >>Awesome thanks>> Oh by the way, what are you studying>> talk about that and most likely they will ask what you are doing too, instant relationship

be sincere like you're meeting a new friend and want to learn about them

you can even play the insecure/empathy card until you get good

go up to a group

hey guys, you ever do sales?

it's nerve racking going up to these people you dont know and trying to sell them something (try to get them to feel your pain)

I went up to this one guy and X happened (funny story about you getting shut down)

they will prob ask what you're selling at somepoint

I really screw-up i ask for her feedback i told her i am learning how to sell ask her concern on choosing a telco she is rather defensive.

Oh boy sales is hard for technical person.

How to sell? People dont like to be sold but people like to buy
