I have a couple of clients who have physically moved to PR for this reason. Since PR is a US overseas territory, you are not required to file a foreign earned income exclusion, but you would owe 0 federal taxes. Also your income on foreign source income is tax free in PR.

How about a US citizen residing in PR full time and doing business in/with the US? How does that nexus work?

I just read another article on many big money financial guys heading there and interested. No wonder John Paulson is building $1billion high end resort/communities.
