    Default Free Money!

    http://www.grants.gov

I can't believe all the "Free Money" out there that our government is giving away.

If you are entertaining business in the health or housing sector, you might find something here. If you are non-profit, your odds of qualifying for something go up. I've got a great idea for a non-profit and I've been trolling around the site for a few hours looking for grants .... the beauty of non-profit is it is far less cut-throat!!

What is the technical definition of a "non profit" organization?

Actually I guess what I'm asking is what are the rules?
Because can't you pay yourself a salary of sorts? And surely you have to pay employees too.
We are what we think we are, and what we perceive ourselves to be is what we will ultimately become.

Non-profit means your manner of organization as seen by the IRS. When you start a non-profit, you have to file the correct paperwork with your state and be subject to different rules.

Non-profit doesn't mean "no pay" -- as a foundation director, you can pay yourself a salary and definitely are entitled to do so.

So I guess you should feel good about paying your taxes then! Just think, you give money to them, they give it away to help others. MJ, you are helping the world on a nation wide scale! LOL (absolutely kidding)

Somehow, I just don't think you'll agree ("did he just say, GOOD!") and hopefully you have a sense of humor today Jedi Master.

if mj creates a non profit and gets a huge grant for it, then the circle will be complete.
