Business as Usual

These posts track my successes and failures over time, I am a terrible writer so they are poorly written and very broken up but I am sure there is some valuable information for those of you who are just starting out on your path as well.

  1. April Update

by , Apr 30th, 2013 at 06:14 PM (Business as Usual)
Not much to report, still getting the hiring process perfected.

    • Finally found way to passively get 3-4 well qualified applicants a day for less than $100/mo which I just started rolling out on Saturday.

    • Interviewed 3 very qualified individuals and am going to be hiring them officially tomorrow and get them started, more interviews scheduled for the rest of the week and will continue to add more staff

    • Still have the client from last month, netted

  2. Shut up and SELL!!! March biz competition update.

by , Apr 1st, 2013 at 01:36 AM (Business as Usual)
Holy crap, this has been a month for the books. For the first week of the month I was spending my time finishing up the website and setting up logistics, it was pretty basic stuff but very time consuming. The last 3/4 of the month was yet another learning experience...

In last months blog, I made some estimations and I quote:"I think I could very realistically do 10k in March and probably hit much higher than that if nothing serious gets in the way of me managing daily operations, we ...

  3. Fastlane Sales: February Business Blog

by , Feb 22nd, 2013 at 02:07 AM (Business as Usual)
Just about to head off to bed but I thought I would write up a quick blog as to what I am doing and where I am headed.

    Overview:

    • Made a little money
    • Launching Sales Company
    • Turned 17
    • Got MFL 1 year from yesterday

    Job:

Job: I have basically quit my sales job, the guy I was working for got pretty sketchy on me. He paid me $300 and he still owes me about $200 more, I don't think I will be seeing the cash but it's not a big deal to me. ...

  4. January Life/Business Competition Update

by , Jan 28th, 2013 at 01:15 PM (Business as Usual)
Well, January was a month where I learned a lot about myself as well as other people.

Lessons of the month: To start things off, I stopped my software project. It became ever more apparent to me that there was a huge violation of control and need in the marketplace I was looking to enter. Apple could easily come into the space and squash me because the truth of the matter is teachers LOVE apple products (they have some weird fetish with them) and apple has millions to spend on development; ...

  5. Big December Competition/Blog Update

by , Dec 28th, 2012 at 11:57 PM (Business as Usual)
Oh where to begin, December has been wild!

Web Design/Marketing: I didn't cold call or network a lot because calling people and hunting for clients was not efficient and does NOT fit into a school schedule where I am in school from 7-3 every day; in turn I didn't design any websites or new clients (no $$$ this month).

Being lazy mike? No, instead I was focusing on creating a passive-ish lead system so that the leads will come to me instead of me having to go find them. ...
