Life in the Fastlane

  1. June - Final Post

    by , Jun 8th, 2013 at 12:20 PM (Butt-Naked Abundance)
I didn't do well. I know that, but I realize that this continues. The learning continues. The growth goes on, and I'm not ashamed - not even close.

I probably made a total of $500, and that was from freelancing. Not exactly Fast Lane material. The book I'm writing, my real Fast Lane project, is still underway. This is a process.

Here are the main things I've learned through this process:

    1. Build a Team

Having people to bounce ideas off of, to ...
  2. Another Turning Point

    by , May 30th, 2013 at 11:18 PM
In my last update I wrote about my decision to move from Ontario to British Columbia. I had gotten a job as a coordinator for a construction project.

After almost 2 months here I’m starting to burn out. The days are very tiring – 12 hours counting indentured time. And my days off are few and far between. Tomorrow will be my 11th consecutive day of work. The job has little down time for reading, and no phone reception for cold-calling or doing any research.

    A Snapshot:

It was a perfect day outside today. I run the risk of sounding cliche when I say I love long walks on the beach. The ocean crashing to my left, the seaguls squaking to my right. Deeply breathing the salty air. The sand forces uneven steps. I constantly struggle for balance, but it's beautiful.

The beach mimics life, or the other way around. It's always hard to get a sure footing, but you can't expect it to be any other way. Once you accept it your journey becomes ...

  5. Fastlane Competition - April update

    by , May 1st, 2013 at 09:11 AM
With summer quickly approaching I'm putting focus back on Weather Oasis. I placed my first MOQ order and expect it to ship mid May. I should have it mid June. I got my own custom labels for the cooling towels complete with a unique UPC, so I should be able to go straight onto Amazon as well as eBay.

My stock has diminished to the point I need to slow sales down. I sure managed that! I raised the price by almost double and haven't had a sale in two weeks. While that doesn't bode ...
